163 km - 3 km to the finish - Team Liquigas and Team Adria Mobil are in the lead.
160 km - 6 km to the finish - Four Liquigas riders are in the front with Kristijan Koren and Vincenzo Nibali among them, followed by the yellow jersey wearer Bole. There are some Sava riders.
156 km – 10 km to the finish - A group of 35 riders is in the front led by Saxo Bank and Liquigas riders.
150 km – 16 km to the finish - The smaller group crossed the mountain finish 35 seconds behind the first group with the next group approximately one minute behind. The descent to the valley along a wet and slippery road has started.
148 km – 18 km to the finish - The mountain finish is approaching. A group of 25 is still in front. The green jersey wearer, Marko Kump (Slo/Adria Mobil), is among those that have fallen behind (30 seconds).
147 km – 19 km to the finish - A group of 25 riders is in the lead, headed by a member of Team Liquigas. The tempo is quicker.
145 km - 21 km to the finish - The standing at the climb has changed drastically because of rain. The peloton is not slowing down and a group of 20 riders will close the gap to Rogina soon.
144 km – 22 km to the finish - Attacks have increased in number, Vincenzo Nibali (Ita/Liquigas) is in the front, with Saxo Bank riders 20 metres behind him. The group of 25 riders is led by Tomaž Nose (Slo/Adria Mobil), Giovanni Visconti (Ita/ISD - Neri) and other favourites for the overall win.
141 km - 25 km to the finish - Tempo is still the highest possible, the main pack is spread-out and headed by four Saxo Bank riders. Vincenzo Nibali (Ita/Liquigas) and Robert Kišerlovski (Cro/Liquigas) are drafting in the slipstream, with Grega Bole riding closely behind.
141 km - Team Saxo Bank still leads one kilometre into the climb, the yellow jersey wearer is in tenth place. A rising number of riders is falling behind the peloton of approximately 70 riders.
140 km - The main pack have started their ascent to the second mountain finish. The Saxo Bank riders are dictating a harsh tempo in the first highly demanding part, with the yellow jersey wearer, Bole, drafting directly behind. 500 metres into the climb, the peloton has reformed.
133 km - The peloton gained ground on Rakuša, who is now leading by just one minute and 15 seconds. Team Saxo Bank is still leading the main pack. The tempo is increasing as the start of the decisive climb to Bad Bleiberg approaches.
126 km - Members of Team Saxo Bank have begun dictating the tempo at the front of the peloton with Team ISD-Neri directly behind them. The breakaway's advantage has dropped to one minute and 50 seconds.
124 km - The leader maintains a gap of 2 minutes and 20 seconds and Team Lampre continues to dictate the tempo in the peloton.
119 km - The breakaway is two minutes 45 seconds ahead, Lampre is heading the peloton and Grega Bole, the leader in overall standings is in sixth place.
116 km - Rakuša is 3:10 minutes ahead. It appears the weather towards the finish will be sunny, which promises an exciting stage finish.
108 km - The main pack has also passed the intermediate sprint section, but the gap to the leader has increased. The breakaway is 4:09 minutes ahead but will have a hard time keeping the advantage with the upcoming headwind.
108 km - The breakaway rider has passed the intermediate sprint section and the peloton continues to close the gap. The tempo is dictated by Team Lampre.
104 km - As a side note, Riccardo Ricco (Ita/Ceramica) will also be riding towards the second mountain finish. He fell some 8 kilometres before the finish in the first stage, which put him 4:25 minutes behind after the commissaires reviewed the videos of the event. Before the fall, the Italian was one of the major favourites for the overall win.
102 km - The riders are less than an hour away from the second mountain finish – Bad Bleiberg.
93 km - Rakuša, who has been showing very good form lately, finishing fifth at last weekend's race across Upper Austria, is losing his advantage and the peloton is just 4:21 minutes behind.
87 km - The leader maintains a five-minute advantage and the riders are already past the feeding zone. It looks like the weather will improve.
83 km - Luka Rakuša has a gap of five minutes and 20 seconds over the peloton, which has re-absorbed Kerkez. The peloton is spread-out, the tempo is dictated by Lampre, the road is wet but the weather is sunny.
80 km - The breakaway rider is 6 minutes and 15 seconds ahead and Kerkez is behind him with one minute and 25 seconds of advantage over the peloton.
75 km - Immediately after the descent, the weather changed to pouring rain. Vladimir Kerkez (Slo/Sava) has succeeded in escaping from the main pack during the descent. The leader is still over six minutes ahead.
70 km - The breakaway rider has crossed the mountain finish and is now descending towards Austria. The road is dry and does not present a significant problem for the riders.
56 km - The leader Luka Rakuša (Slo/Delo revije) has begun his ascent to Ljubelj with an advantage over the main pack of six minutes and 20 seconds. The road is dry and hopes are high that it will remain dry for the descent to Austria.
50 km - Team Delo revije's rider holds a six-minute advantage and the stage is still rainy.
45 km - One hour into the race, the average speed is 43 km/h. The breakaway rider continues to ride ahead of everyone while the peloton is approaching Tržič at a comfortable tempo dictated by Team Lampre.
44 km - Bole is the 19th Slovenian rider to wear the yellow jersey at the Tour de Slovénie. Grega is also the 24th Slovenian with at least one stage race win. Tour de Slovénie has so far hosted 101 stage races, 43 of which were won by Slovenian riders.
38 km - The leader increased his advantage significantly after the intermediate sprint, to four minutes and a half. The Lampre team riders dictating the tempo have slowed down considerably.
32 km - Luka Rakuša (Slo/Delo revije) is already past the intermediate sprint section. His advantage over the main pack, where the Lampre riders are setting the tempo, is two minutes and a half.
25 km - The breakaway rider is approaching the intermediate sprint in Kranj and widening the gap to the peloton, which is now a minute and a half.
24 km - These riders are wearing special jerseys according to the overall standings: Yellow (leader in overall standings): Bole (Slo) Blue (leader in the points classification): Kump (Slo) Polka dot (leader in the mountains classification): Rossetto (Fra) White (leader in the young rider classification): Van Stayen (Bel)
23 km - The breakaway rider has increased his advantage to one minute.
20 km - Rakuša has a 10-second advantage over the main pack, which has slowed its tempo, allowing the breakaway riders to widen the gap. There is light rain and the air temperature is 21 degrees Celsius.
17 km - The leader is 20 seconds ahead of a breakaway group of six followed by the main pack.
14 km - The breakaway rider is 15 seconds ahead of the peloton and it has started to rain.
10 km - The only successful breakaway attempt so far was by Luka Rakuša (Slo/Delo revije). Behind him, other attempts to escape from the peloton are being made.
7 km - The first breakaway attempts have begun. Leading them is a member of the Spanish team Xacobeo Galicia. The peloton is spread-out, the current speed is 50 km/h.
4 km - The peloton is travelling at a favourable tempo with an average speed of 35 km/h.
1 km - The riders are racing closely together and there are no attempts at breaking away.
11.08 - Today's race includes three intermediate sprints and two mountain finishes. After yesterday's wet and slippery road, which was the biggest deciding factor of the first stage, the sprinters' biggest obstacle today will be the climb to the second mountain finish - Bad Bleiberg.
11.05 - The initial 5 kilometres along the streets of Slovenia's capital city, Ljubljana, see the riders racing in close formation towards Šentvid.
11.02 - The weather is sunny and the air temperature is 30 degrees Celsius. 108 riders were present at the start. The only exception was Enrico Rossi (Ita/Ceramica).
11.00 - The second stage of the 17th Tour de Slovénie has started in Ljubljana. The 166-kilometre race will finish in Villach for the fifth time.
10.55 - The 2nd stage of the 17th Tour de Slovénie runs from Slovenia to Austria. In view of the Slovenian victory in the initial stage, the leader's jersey will be worn by the Slovenian Grega Bole Lampre-Farnese Vini.
