Pep Guardiola je Španiji v boju s koronavirusom doniral milijon evrov.
Vodstvo Manchester Cityja je danes sporočilo, da je med žrtvami koronavirusa tudi mati trenerja sinjemodrih Pepa Guardiole. Dvainosemdesetletna Dolors Sala Carrió je umrla v Manresi, kraju blizu Barcelone.
"Vodstvo Manchester Cityja z veliko žalostjo sporoča, da je po okužbi s koronavirusom umrla mama Pepa Guardiole, Dolors Sala Carrió. Stara je bila 82 let. Vsi v klubu v tem žalostnem času Pepu in njegovi družini ter prijateljem izrekamo iskreno sožalje," so zapisali pri Manchester Cityju.

Guardiola, ki je zadnje dni preživel doma v Barceloni, je sicer že konec marca v boju s koronavirusom daroval milijon dolarjev medicinski fakulteti v Barceloni in fundaciji Angel Soler Daniel. Denar so uporabili za nakup medicinske opreme in zaščitnega materiala v bolnišnicah, kjer zdravijo obolele. V Španiji je zaradi novega koronavirusa umrlo že več kot 13 tisoč ljudi, Katalonija pa je ena od regij z največ okuženimi.
Španskemu strategu in njegovim najbližjim so se medtem že poklonili tudi v nekaterih drugih evropskih klubih.
