Team GreenEdge started the anniversary 20th Tour of Slovenia with a double win. The individual time trial was won by the Canadian Svein Tuft who became the yellow jersey wearer.

Marco Benfatto from the Continental Team Astana started the 8.8 km race first. The last to head out on the streets of Ljubljana was the Croatian Kristijan Đurašek wearing the Lampre jersey. This is what the winner, CanadianSvein Tuft (Orica-GreenEdge) had to say after his fantastic performance: "This was a very fast time trial. There were many times when I reached 54 and even 55 km/h. I should be very pleased with my performance,"

The first favourite, the Italian Adriano Malori (Lampre), finished 15 seconds behind the leading Canadian Svein Tuft (Orica-GreenEdge) and came in fifth. Second place went to another GreenEdge rider, the Australian Brett Lancaster.

The Slovenian favourites for the overall classification did their best. The top rider was Jan Polanc (10.35), Tadej Valjavec with Jure Golčer achieving the same time (10.46), while Tomaž Nose of Adria finished an additional five seconds behind.

With 10.47, the German Patrik Sinkewitz (Meridiana-Kamen) is still in the race for the yellow jersey and the same goes for the Croatian Radoslav Rogina(Adria Mobil) whose time was 10.58.
