Prisank Window by @anapogacar. . Selected by @zokus_gf, cofounder of @igslovenia. . A window into which you could fit the Ljubljana Skyscraper! Beside the Heathen Maiden, Prisank offers another natural attraction. The front window on the upper edge of the Prisank northern wall is the most well-known window in the Julian Alps and one of the largest natural orifices in Slovenia. It is around 80m high and around 40m wide. It was formed by a collapse, which expanded into the current orifice due to weathering. The window can even be seen from the road. However, if you go from Vršič along the ridge towards the top of the Prisank Mountain, the path leads you past the window and you can even look through it into the valley. /kranjska-gora.si/ . Double Lake, Triglav Lakes Valley by @borissvizec. . Selected by @zokus_gf, cofounder of @igslovenia. . The Triglav Lakes Valley is a rocky hanging valley in the Julian Alps in Slovenia, below the sheer sides of Mount Tičarica and Mount Zelnarica southwest of Triglav. The valley is also called the Seven Lakes Valley, although there are ten and not seven lakes in the valley. It is above the tree line and is geologically alpine karst; therefore it has also been termed the Sea of Stone Valley (Dolina kamnitega morja). /wikipedia/ Tag #igslovenia and include location for a chance to be featured. ========================================================= For more information about Slovenia check our page igslovenia.si & follow us also on Facebook & Twitter!

Mt. Mangart in Julian Alps by @gabornagy_photography. . Selected by @zokus_gf, cofounder of @igslovenia. . Mangart or Mangrt is a mountain in the Julian Alps, located on the border between Italy and Slovenia. With an elevation of 2,679 metres (8,789 ft), it is, after Triglav and Škrlatica, the third-highest peak in Slovenia. It was first climbed in 1794 by the naturalist Franz von Hohenwart. Mangart is also the name of the mountain range between the Koritnica Valley and the Mangart Valley, with the highest peak called Veliki Mangart (Big Mount Mangart). The road to Mangart Saddle is the highest road in Slovenia. There are two lakes (it) under Mangart's northern face. /wikipedia/ Tag #igslovenia and include location for a chance to be featured. ========================================================= For more information about Slovenia check our page igslovenia.si & follow us also on Facebook & Twitter!

The sixth lake of Triglav Seven Lakes. Photo by @jaka_ivancic . Selected by @zokus_gf, cofounder of @igslovenia. . Triglav Lakes Valley is one of the most picturesque parts of Triglav National Park, and really quite an amazing scenery of clear blue water, green forests and white mountain`s tops. Lakes of the Triglav Lakes Valley were created at the same time as the Julian Alps, when the moving of tectonic plates began, creating mountains and valley in this part of Slovenia. The Triglav Lake Valley is now more than 8 km long, and it has a lot of lakes, but seven of them are larger and really worth visiting. /tripedia.info/ . Tag #igslovenia for a chance to be featured. . • Ojstrica in njene začasne prebivalke skozi objektiv @petry6.

Mt. Ojstrica. Photo by @petry6. . Selected by @zokus_gf, cofounder of @igslovenia. . The central part of Kamnik Alps ends on its eastern side with a beautiful high mountain, one of the most impressive in the whole group. Also its name - Ojstrica = Sharp Peak - suggests this. The most impressive side of Ojstrica is itsnorth wall (Logarska dolina is more tha 1500 m below the summit). It is more than 500m high and offers many beautiful climbing routes. Also high is Ojstrica's east face. From the summit and from a long SE ridge, a 700 m high, steep rocky face is falling down to Robanov kot valley. Quite steep are also the south slope, rising above the broad, green meadow of Korošica, 1800 m, and the south-west slope, over which the easyest ascent goes. / summitpost.org/ Tag #igslovenia for a chance to be featured. .
